Jeffrey F. Durgee is Associate Professor of Marketing at the Lally School of Management and Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He teaches and does research in the areas of brand imagery and new product needs assessment. His research on these topics has been published in the Journal of Advertising Research, the MSI Working Papers Series, and Psychology and Marketing.
His specific expertise is in ethnographic, anthropological, and literary criticism approaches to understanding brand imagery and needs for new products. He has used these approaches in consulting for Procter & Gamble, Kodak, O.M Scott, Enterprise Rental Cars, Hannaford Supermarkets, and Coleman Camping Products.
Jeffrey has also worked in the Creative Research Department at Young and Rubicam. His Ph.D. is in Sociology from the University of Pittsburgh.
